Betsy Wellings

Betsy Wellings  has been performing in local venues for many years. She began by singing in choirs and playing in Mexican restaurants, and continued on to become a first-rate folk singer and songwriter. She has two full-length recordings to her credit and an online presence that includes radio broadcasts and digital downloads.

Betsy is married with a 22 year-old daughter, and teaches music to kindergarten through second graders. Her broad repertoire includes children’s music, music in Spanish, her own original songs, and many other genres of music.  At her performances, other skilled musicians are likely to join her to add harmonies and additional instrumentation.

Her husband, Steve Chin, is a highly skilled guitarist whose claim to fame (beside accompanying Betsy in her performances) is that back in 1971 he sat in on guitar with Leo Kottke at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Portland, Oregon. He has a rich basso profundo singing voice, but rarely can be cajoled into showing it off. Maybe we will get lucky this time
