Fine Company, comprising Ron Dalton, Jim Portillo and Bill Murlin, expand upward and outward from a classic folk music base to put a creative, entertaining stamp on a range of enjoyable songs and tunes. Their music includes history, relationships, social scenes and humor, all backed with solid instrumentation. Their trio, “Fine Company,” blends their friendship and musical interests developed from jam sessions and playing with several other groups, including Burgundy Pearl and The Wanderers. You’ll be in fine company singing along with Fine Company.

Fine Company captures the energy and vocal power of the 1960’s “Folk Revival” and bring it forward into the 21st century with complex vocal harmonies, nuanced instrumental work, and some down-home humor. Fine Company brings together the talents of three talented Pacific Northwest musicians – “folk era” veterans Bill Murlin and Ron Dalton, teamed with youngster Jim Portillo. They trade off lead vocals, build beautiful three-part harmony on the choruses, and back themselves with talented picking on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and bass. This is a bright and fresh take on American folk music, which doesn’t lose the charm of days gone by. You’ll love Fine Company!
